Today 14th Oct I wrote to Berks and Bucks councils

Berkshire and Buckinghamshire Councils asking them to create a pollinator plan and sponsor a roundabout pollinator habitat scheme.

Buckinghamshire County Council – Rachael Shimmin and Richard Barker responded. They are creating wilder spaces (BRILLIANT!) and are hopefully going to incorporate my pollinator sponsorship scheme into their program which you can find here

Wilder Spaces – Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Natural Environment Partnership (bucksmknep.co.uk)

Bracknell Forest District Council – Susan Halliwell acknowledged receipt & passed letter to Andrew Hunter, Executive Director who is responsible for this area. I received a response from Andrew.

Reading District Council – Marcus Hermon responded to me. Reading have a Sponsorship Scheme in place, but only 1 of these schemes is for pollinators, the other just provides signage for the company. They have a pollinator plan in place and have identified some areas which can be improved. Yay!! I hope that they decide to just go ahead with the pollinator sponsorship scheme in the future. Why sponsor an area if you’re not going to improve it?
